Ever wondered how durable one of the old plate types are? Well, check out this picutre of a tree in the vicinity of MacKenzie, circa summer 2005. My best guess is that we are looking at a Trailer Floater plate from the early 1970s? The stacked "BC" at left helped to narrow it down, and I am fairly certain that the faint outline of the word "TRAILER" is still visible along the top of the plate (click on picture at left for a better view). I am impressed with how well the paint has held up (espeically in that part of the province), and that the tree seems to have, more or less, survived the impalement. Had it been one of the Flag Graphics it probably would have crumpled on impact with the tree! A special thanks go to Paul Walsh and Graydon Rockwell for sending in this pic.
