As was touched upon under the previous section, the Territory had amended the year of issue displayed on its licence plates in 1951 so that the date shown reflected the end of the registration year as opposed to the end of the calendar year. As a result, the 1952 plates display the date of "Ex. 31-3-53".

Subsequent years would be validated through renewal tabs which display the date of "Ex. 31-3-54" for the 1953 plates, and "Ex. 31-2-55" for the 1954 plates.
