The Archives have this Register listed as being for "Chauffeur Licenses" issued between 1911 and 1913 for the Nos 1 to 554 - but it is actually much more than that! |
While this Register was initially used for recording Chauffeur's to 1913, this only took 63 of a possible 200 pages in the book. So, it was repurposed five years later in order to keep track of various automobile, motorcycle, trailer and chauffeur licenses being sent out to the various office of the Provincial Police across the province from 1918-1922. |
To try and make heads-and-tails out of this information, an attempt at transcribing is going to be made, starting with automobile "markers" (a term I still think must be unique to BC). Stay tuned ...

In addition to the blank pages presented at the bottom of this page, there are a number of missing pages from the Register, specifically, page Nos. 153-156 and 161-162, which were possible torn out (or fell out). |
